Treatment

An initial consultation (1½ to 2 hrs) will cover your full medical and family history, as well as current issues. This helps us to build a picture of you and is essential in planning a treatment tailored to your own individual needs.

Acupuncture works best if built up steadily therefore a minimum of 4 to 6 treatments is recommended in the first instance. Treatment intervals are then reviewed. Some patients return for a seasonal top up once initial issues are resolved; others prefer to stop once they feel better.

What to Expect

Acupuncture needles are much finer than the needles used to take blood or give injections. When the needle is inserted people often describe the sensation as a tingling or dull ache.

Treatment may also include techniques such as Moxibustion (applied heat used to relax muscles and warm acupuncture points); Cupping (glass cups with a vacuum seal placed on skin) or Guasha (vigorous rubbing of skin) to increase blood flow or clear stagnant qi.

Fees

First Visit and Consultation (1½ to 2 hours): £55
Further Treatments (45 mins to 1hr): £38
